Who Can I Turn To?

Who do I turn to to fill to this empty space. Who can I turn to when I need love? These lyrics to the song " Who can I run to " speaks volumes. If you sit down and analyze every detail of your life - ask this question who can you run to?

Where do you find shelter, where do you find comfort and where do you find love? Over time the "who" has changed based on different circumstances in your life. Big words like Love, Protection, Honesty, Trust and Loyalty are just a few siginificant roles in deciding who can you run to when you're in need. We know who we can run to without being judged for the decisions you have made in your life, you know who you can tell your deep dark secrets to without the whole world knowing it, we know who we can turn to when we are having finacnial issues who can bale us out... We know all of these things... But the dilemna with knowing is weighing out all pros and cons of that particular relationship... Is it worth the time, will it last after attempting to ask or share? Does this person make me feel safe? Ultimately does this person really have my best interest at hand.

The reality about "US" is we really have our own agenda for doing what we do. We get caught up in the drama and it becomes apart of our lives. No need to turn on the T.V. to watch the soap operas we have it right in front of us. Good intentions are not always the best because eventually good intentions become like quick sand. We want to help everybody, we want to listen to everybody, and we want to fill the needs for everybody, but do we really help the person or make it worse?

Vulnerability , Loneilness, and Pain are sure ingredients for diaster... if not careful it will lead you into the deep blue sea of no return. Don't throw caution to the wind. Be careful to not step into the trap of always being the hero in the half shell or the Superman to every Lois Lane.

Reality is yes be helpful but not to the point that you never live your life. Be helpful but even Superman took a sabbatical. When do we get to the place where we are no longer running but standing?
